Jenean Morrison

"We must be steady enough in ourselves, to be open and to let the winds of life blow through us, to be our breath, our inspiration . . ."
Mary Caroline Richards

I love this quote because I find myself the most inspired when I let the beautiful world around us absorb into my consciousness and guide my creativity.

I’ve been a creative free spirit since early childhood.  I always found it easiest to express myself through a drawing or a craft project.  Today, I enjoy a life as a painter and graphic designer living with my adorable husband (we were married last year!) in Memphis, Tennessee.  I describe my style as eclectic modern.  I’m drawn to modern design but love the randomness of eclecticism and intricate design.  I’m inspired by classic design form, which I strive to modernize with a unique and interesting twist.

I’m delighted to share that my paintings were chosen to appear in New American Paintings, which was a huge honor given the talent I see and enjoy everyday.  Most recently I was asked to create two exclusive paintings for the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas; prints of the paintings will hang in over 700 rooms…viva Las Vegas!

I thoroughly enjoy the medium of paint but realized that I wanted my work to touch and appeal to a broader audience.  To that end, I embarked on a new venture and created my design brand, Posh Pattern by Jenean.  The program has been successful beyond my wildest dreams and we now license design collections for use on giftwrap, stationery, partyware, scrapbooking kits and much more.

I am thrilled to add Freespirit/Westminster as a licensing partner.  I had so much fun designing Moondance, my debut collection for Free Spirit.  One night I was working late and noticed the moonlight shinning through my window, it was as if it was dancing around the room! Inspired by this I wanted to create a collection that embodied the playfulness of the moonlight. I began by creating round, spiral shapes for the main patterns, and then I pulled those shapes apart and reworked them into secondary patterns.  The end result a collection that mixes soft colors with petit prints.  I hope it inspires your imagination and creativity!
